Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) http://www.cdc.gov/ provides information on different cancers, cancer data and cancer registries, cancer risk factors, and cancer prevention/control initiatives by the CDC.
Cancer Control Planet http://cancercontrolplanet.cancer.gov is the portal that provides access to data and resources that can help planners, program staff, and researchers to design, implement, and evaluate evidenced-based cancer control programs.
Healthfinder http://www.healthfinder.gov/ provides information on health topics such as cancer and other health conditions. It also provides information about online resources/tools, and information on prevention and quality care.
The Office of Minority Health http://www.cdc.gov/omhd/Populations/definitions.htm provides comprehensive information on health disparities and offers resources aimed at eliminating these disparities.
The Virginia Prostate Cancer Coalition http://vapcacoalition.org/ cites its mission as making prostate cancer an urgent priority for the healthcare provider, patient, and legislative communities. Included are activities pertaining to prostate cancer awareness in Virginia.
The Prevent Cancer Foundation http://preventcancer.org/ is a national, non-profit health foundation whose mission is the prevention and early detection of cancer through scientific research and education. The foundation focuses its energies and resources on those cancers which can be prevented through lifestyle changes or detection and treatment in their early stages.
Virginia Cancer Plan Action Coalition http://www.virginiacpac.org is an umbrella organization to support all Virginians interested in cancer resources including prevention, early detection, treatment, survivorship/palliative care, surveillance, and health equity.
