The Office of Family Health Services is committed to providing timely, reliable and accurate data concerning the health status of families in Virginia. We regularly analyze, assess and research risk and protective factors that contribute to the leading causes of death and hospitalization in the Commonwealth.
This includes the coordination of the Behavior Risk Factor Surveillance System Survey (BRFSS), analyses of hospital discharge data, child passenger restraint usage observational surveys and the coordination of various quantitative and qualitative surveys that better enable us to understand and promote healthy behaviors and lifestyles in Virginia.
