Have you wanted to do something to help before? By joining the PENINSULA MRC unit you can be ready to respond. We need 5,000 MRC volunteers that are passionate and committed to Protecting the Health of Virginia.
The PENINSULA MRC is a group of volunteer health care professionals and community members protecting the health of: The cities of Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, and Williamsburg, and the counties of James City, and York.

Volunteers are encouraged to volunteer in a Unit where they reside. The Peninsula MRC Unit covers Williamsburg, James City County, York County, Poquoson, Newport News, and Hampton.
Membership in the Peninsula Medical Reserve Corps requires the following:
You are also required to maintain you email address and phone number (at a minimum) for emergency and non-emergency service alert opportunities.
Once these are completed and you are approved in the volunteer database, Peninsula MRC Volunteers will be able to engage in a variety of public health outreach events, participate in emergency exercises, and serve during disasters. There will also be opportunities to further train for specific teams such as shelter, mass fatality, animal welfare, public health outreach, preparedness, etc. Please take a moment to review our training matrix and training calendar (right frame), and read our FAQ’s.
