The Chesapeake Medical Reserve Corps (CMRC) Program coordinates the skills of practicing and retired physicians, nurses and other health professionals as well as other citizens interested in health issues, who are eager to volunteer to address their community's ongoing public health needs and to help their community during large-scale emergency situations.
The mission of the CMRC is to organize and train citizen volunteers to assist regular medical response professionals during community emergencies. Being a member of the CMRC provides opportunities to volunteer in many capacities such as emergency preparedness and response (training and exercises), public health education, recruitment, marketing, team leadership or office staffing. The CMRC provides your uniform, badge and basic training cost free to you.
