In partnership with the Office of Minority Health and Public Health Policy (OMHPHP), the Congregational Health ReSource, LLC conducted congregational health assessments in four rural access areas: Hot Springs (Bath County), Luray (Page County), Tappahannock (Essex County), and Woodstock (Shenandoah County). The purpose of these assessments has been to:
- Build a network of collaborators interested in seeing a complete continuum of care, developed and deployed in their community
- Determine if these programs can be broadened to incorporate or blend the health/wellness aspects more seamlessly to develop strategies and programs to improve the health status of Virginians
- Identify local health, civic, education and government leaders who would be willing to become a resource to the congregations in their community, promote health programs, and initiate or sponsor congregational health programs.
