HD02 HIV ANTIBODY TESTING

Written on a 6 th grade reading level, this pocket sized pamphlet describes the HIV antibody test and explains test results. This discreet pocket pamphlet contains explicit illustrations about condom use. It describes how to properly use a condom and gives the reader other important information about the use of condoms. This pamphlet is available in a bilingual English/Spanish format.

VP03 INFECTION CONTROL

Contains the following text: “Clean work area with a 1:10 bleach solution. Reduce chances of needle stick-don’t recap. Dispose of contaminated waste into proper containers. VP09 NOTICE OF “DEEMED CONSENT” FOR HIV, HBV, AND HCV TESTING

This poster cites the Code of Virginia, Section 32.1-45.1 regarding deemed consent for testing when health care providers or patients are exposed to blood or body fluids in a way that may transmit HIV, Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C. The poster is available to health care providers for posting in offices and clinics. (Spanish, VP10)

HD16 POSITIVE LIVING MANUAL AND TRACKER

This manual is intended for HIV positive persons. It provides a wide variety of information on living with HIV including, but not limited to, nutrition, finding a medical provider, stress relief, safer sex, treatment options, legal issues and statewide resources. The tracker is included to assist with medication adherence as well as charting lab results and documenting symptoms. Case managers and support group facilitators may also use this manual to help structure discussions with clients. The manual is also available in Spanish (HS16).

CB02 SAYING NO TO SEX (ABSTINENCE)

This pamphlet encourages abstinence as the safest way to prevent transmission of HIV and STDs. It discusses self-esteem issues, and refusal techniques. This pamphlet is available in Spanish only (BS02).

HD03 SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES

This pamphlet explains symptoms, transmission and treatment for the following STDs, HIV/AIDS, Chlamydia, genital warts, and HPV, gonorrhea, hepatitis A, B, and C, herpes, syphilis, vaginal infections, NGU, crabs and pubic lice. It explains symptoms, transmission, and treatment. It discusses notifying partners of infections, following doctors’ instructions, and how to use a condom, and prevention. A Channing L. This pamphlet urges women to take steps to protect themselves and their babies from HIV infection.
