Goals

The Child Health Programs at the Virginia Department of Health are committed to improving the health and well-being of children across the Commonwealth.  We do this through a number of programs and partnerships.  Our activities include:

• Assessing child health
• Identifying resources
• Informing the public about child health issues
• Assisting policy makers
• Supporting private and public health care providers
• Developing programs and information systems
• Providing clinical consultation and educational activities on selected topics
• Developing and distributing guidelines and educational materials
• Short-term and long-term tracking and follow-up
