Hands OnPRE-021 Hands-on Physical Assessment Workshop

Come join us in a three hour hands-on workshop teaching the finer points of physical assessment and clinically focused surface anatomy. Penetrating trauma patients have a high mortality rate. Severe injuries occur in which early recognition in the field can mean the difference between life and death. We will also compare and contrast naturally occurring biologic events to intentional or man-made events.

TRA-7004 Out of Joint – Evaluation and Management of Dislocations

Extremity trauma is a common occurrence in both the prehospital and wilderness arena. Dislocations are not only painful, but failure to identify and treat in a timely fashion can lead to increased morbidity including permanent disability. In the austere environment, immediate reduction is indicated if neurological deficits are present and transport to definitive therapy will be delayed. Will review how to identify common dislocations as well as tips and tricks to appropriately perform dislocations.
