PRE-002 Infection Control Basic Designated Officer Training Course

Target Audience: AllTwo-day course designed to prepare the attendee for assuming this important role. This individual is required for all emergency response agencies by Federal law (Ryan White Law - Part G). A course book is supplied to follow the training. This includes testing laws, Ryan White law, medical waste regulations, confidentiality, discrimination, job description, how to establish an effective communication system, proper post exposure medical treatment, record keeping and reporting requirements. This course covers childhood diseases as well as meningitis and bloodborne pathogens & TB.

PRE-004 Escaping Violent Encounters for EMS and Fire

PRE-005 ICISF Group Crisis Intervention

Target Audience: BLS, ALSDesigned to present the core elements of a comprehensive, systematic and multi-component crisis intervention curriculum. The Group Crisis Intervention course will prepare participants to understand a wide range of crisis intervention services. Fundamentals of Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) will be outlined and participants will leave with the knowledge and tools to provide several group crisis interventions, specifically demobilizations, defusings and the Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD). PRE-006 NFA: Emergency Medical Services: Functions in the Incident Command System (F166)

Target Audience: BLS, AdministratorsStudents will practice use of the Incident Command System in coordination with other public safety responders. As a follow-up to ICS-100 and ICS-200 training, this course will present scenarios requiring responders to structure their EMS resources within the guidance of NIMS ICS, as appropriate to the needs of the different incident types. Through simulation and role-playing, students will demonstrate the implementation of EMS components in an ICS system at medium or large-sized incidents.

PRE-008 Wilderness Emergency Care- ASHI

Target Audience: AllThis will be delivery of the ASHI Wilderness First Aid Certificate Course. The course teaches the problems dealing with the EMS patient in the wilderness environment. We will address Medical, Trauma and Nature related injuries and illnesses. We will address the care and the equipment used to provide that care. Students will be preforming skills related to Medical Care in the Wilderness environment. Students are encouraged to dress with the ability to do hands-on exercises. Students also are encouraged to bring their personal SAR, hiking or camping packs, fully packed, to allow utilization of what they normally carry in the wilderness environment.
