Grant Application Information

The Financial Assistance for Emergency Medical Services Grants Program, known as the Rescue Squad Assistance Fund (RSAF) Grant Program is a multi-million dollar grant program for Virginia non-profit EMS agencies and organizations. Items eligible for funding include EMS equipment and vehicles, computers, EMS management programs, courses/classes and projects benefiting the recruitment and retention of EMS members.

Emergency Medical Services Training Fund (EMSTF) - Any Grant requests for Training must be submitted through the EMSTF effective July 1, 2008.  The Emergency Medical Services Training Funds monies are available for expenses related to certification, auxiliary and continuing education programs whose lessons are based upon or resemble the learning objectives in the United States Department of Transportation's Intermediate-99 and Paramedic curricula and the Enhanced curricula as defined in 12 VAC 5-31.  For more information contact Jackie Hunter.

Financial Assistance Review Committee (FARC) - The FARC is the committee which reviews applications for the RSAF grants.

Pursuant to the Virginia Emergency Medical Services Regulations 12VAC5-31-2850 Modification of an award, OEMS will accept Emergency Grant Applications Word Document at anytime from applicable agencies that have demonstrated a need arising from a national or manmade disaster as defined in §44-146.16 of the Code of Virginia.
