To sustain a community-based volunteer organization which provides education to the public on health and safety; and to support the Chickahominy Health District in emergency preparedness, mitigation, and response.
Chickahominy Medical Reserve Corps promotes a partnership between professional emergency personnel and the people they serve. If a disaster overwhelms or delays a community's professional emergency response, Chickahominy MRC volunteers may assist by applying the response and organizational skills they learned during training.
Chickahominy MRC volunteers maintain and refine their skills by participating in exercises and activities. Supplemental training is offered live and on-line to further their skills. Members can volunteer for projects that improve community emergency preparedness.
The goal is to train members, both medical professionals and other volunteers, in response skills. These skills can help save and sustain lives following any disaster or emergency in our area.
You do not have to be a medical professional to participate! We need your help! To find out more visit www.vamrc.org.
